Happy New Years

Happy New Years everyone! I know that I am early for all of my US readers but it is New Year’s Eve so I’m not that early. Anyways, I will make a real post later I am just up now messing around with a new layout idea. As you can see it isnt quite working but at least the colors are way better than that awful reen and white thing. I will keep tweaking to get tthis on to work right, hopefully before Sunday. :)

Howdy

Hey everyone! Just letting you know that I arrived safe and sound in KC and I found someones unsecured 802.11B Linksys router that I am using to write this, a big wh00t from me for kismac and my ibook! :) Comments and whotnot should be working as I had to totally redo this entire site last night to fix the huge load times that were happening. I still have no idea what was causing that but I guess that something in thw wordpress code an mysql were not happy. At any rate, everything seems to be working fine now and feel free to post holiday wishes, etc as comments. Take care and have a Merry Christmas everyone! :D

Best Wishes

an image of Yoda dressed as santa from Google image searchWell its almost that time again everyone, Christmas! In a few hours I will be heading off to Kansas City to spend a few days with my mom’s side of the family. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year so I am really looking forward to it. It’s really nice to see the members of my family that live really far away.

I really didn’t have that much that I wanted this year and to be perfectly honest I really had been way to busy with everything at SMS to even have time to think about it. And while I am on the subject of grades here is how my semestar grades came out: 2 As, 1 B, and 1 C. This is a HUGE improvment over the grades that I have gotten the last 2 years which were comprised mainly of Cs, Ds, and some Fs that I had to fis by retaking a class or 2. So now my GPA is swinging up instead of down for once but I still have a long way to go to make it worth looking at as far as future emplyment is concerned, but I have 3 semestars let in my ummm 5 year plan so I hope I can keep things positive. :P

I only hope that the holidays don’t make me dwell on my ex to much but I am planning on keeping myself to busy for that kinda crap. So to everyone out there Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and if I don’t post before January Happy New Year!

Finals Week!

Finals as the stand so far:

Monday - My hardest day due to the back to back finals I had.
First up was CIS 334 :

Advanced Windows Applications Programming
Methods and techniques of designing and Implementing Windows software applications. Case study will provide a framework for developing working prototypes of business applications using a graphical user interface, object?oriented language.

That one was not to bad actually even though I arrived late I managed to finish early. I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing but oh well, I just hope I did ok

Next up was CIS 326:

Database Management Systems Concepts and Design
Study of database management concepts and techniques. Emphasis on data modeling using various data models such as semantic object, entity-relationship, relational, hierarchical, and network. Discussion and application of SQL to develop and query databases. Additional topics include database administration, study of micro and mainframe DBMS such as SQL/DS (DB2), client-server database environment, and distributed databases. Completion of a major study project is required.

Real riveting stuff huh? Anyways, this one was a real monster. I don’t think I did very well on it so I will probably have a B or a C in this one, I would have liked to have done better on this one but there was just to much to remember and not enough room left in my brain. ;)

Wendesday - My early day, my single final began at 8:45 to a lovley day with a tempuraure of 9 degrees farienheight (oh boy). The final for this day was CIS 275:

CIS 275 Web Application Development for Business I
Introduction to the key concepts of developing business applications for the World Wide Web, a critical element of successful e-business systems. Provides extensive hands-on experience of an introductory nature in several important web technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, ASP, and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript and/or VBScript).

This final wasn’t exactly hard as annoying. This course is taught by the professor that I hate the most, Richard Johnson. I have my reasons that I will not go into because I have him next semestar. I have one word to describe this final, STUPID, although he did give us a study guide on is lovley website that ended up being the final so I did have about half of it done when I stumbled into the class today so I guess that is something. We had to design the following:

Create a small web site that meets these requirements:
Using Dreamweaver, create a home page that has two graphics with some explanatory text. One graphic will cause Page A to display in a new window and the other will cause Page B to load in a new window.

Page A uses JavaScript to process form data. Using the form, the user can enter a number in a text box. When one button is clicked, the number is added to an array. When another button is clicked, the numbers in the array are averaged.

Page B displays the contents of a three-field data file bound to a table. When the user mouse’s over any single item in the table, the item becomes bold.

You can see what I did here. It uses DHTML soo Firefix may not like it.

Thuresday - Probably the lease difficult and annoying of of the lot.
Today is MGT 340:

Organizational Behavior and Management

A study of individual, interpersonal, and group behavior within organizations and the behavioral implications of management processes. The interaction of human, technological, structural, global, ethical, and environmental factors are also discussed.

I like this class and professor which suprised the hell out of me. The final was the easiest one to date and I finished it in almost no time. I would estimate that it took me 10 min or less which is insanley fast for a semester final. I even took time to check the whole thing over a few times before I handed it in so I hope it went as well as it seemed to. Well, I am finallly done for the semester and now I can hopefully relax some get everythin sorted out before the new semester. The only part of the holiday that I think will be tough is seeing how I get through Christmas with out having a signifigant other but hopefully it won’t be that big of a deal as for the most part I am moving on nicley but there are still times that I wish things would have worked out better. Oh well there’s lofe for ya. ;) Have holidays to you all and I will see you next time!

Hola!

Sorrry for the delay and I am sorry for the bug with the posting comments page. I am trying to secure it so spam bots cannot wreck things on this shiny new site. I am hoping to have that fixed this weekend if I get time and after I turn in my CIS 334 final project I will update as to what the hell has been happening in my life. :)
