I think I managed to stop these little buggers now and all without using a single plugin! If you have not already done so I suggest that you disable proxies in your wordpress installs as most of the spam bots use those as well I suggest that you block words that you do not want to appear anywhere on your comments, I used the build in blacklist feature to not allow posts using certian words and so far no spam posts (at least till they adapt to this technique)! I will make a real post later after my midterms this week.
