Well, Memorial weekend has come and gone so I thought I would do a little update that I have been putting off. Last week was extremely busy over at Cart32 with the holiday approaching. Unfortunately this was the week that Webserver 3 decided that it would crash multiple times in about a three day period. Luckily the server admin was able to restore stability in time for the weekend and only a few of our ‘crazies’ came out of the woodwork on Friday. I also made a little extra money this week by making a house call out to one of my regular freelance clients to take a look what might be causing their system to slow down, I was only able to find a few pieces of spyware on their system so I think that the client means that their satellite internet is slower than they would like so I will see if I can learn anything new about that.
Then on Friday I hosted Andy’s bachelor party and I had a really great time spending time with Andy and the guys, we saw The Longest Yard amongst other things and it was hysterical so go out and see it! Thursday I need to pick up my Tux from the rental place and then after work Andy and I are heading up to Pilot Grove where the wedding is being held so we can have a few rehearsals before the wedding at 3 on Saturday. then Andy and Krystal are off on a cruse and their honeymoon (I offered to tag along as their baggage carrier but they turned me down. . . oh well, I tried. ;))
Well, thats my recap and a little peek into what I have on tap. Other than that my 3 days off were nice and peaceful and I really needed them. I just need to get some freelance work done at my father’s office. God I have got to get them to let me redo their site. :/. Anyways thats all for now and let me know if you like the new eye candy I found this weekend!

Here are some interesting news items that I found while reading my RSS feeds.
It looks like there’s now an official BitTorrent search engine. (via Slashdot)
here’s an article/interview with the three ‘hackers’ that broke into the LexisNexis database. (via WIRED)
One of the better programs for drawing ERDs ans whatnot for my CIS classes, OmniGraffle has release a new update. (via MacWorld)
Here’s an interesting editorial written by one of the editors of MacWorld about why people might hate computers and thusly contemplate violence against them. (via MacWorld of course)
And lastly here is a rather technical article about one of Apple’s newest system wide search features in OS X ‘Tiger’ called Spotlight. (via MacDevCenter)

Finals are finally done and all I can say is THANK GOD! There of course, is a downside to this thought, I now have to help my suite mates clean up this place so we can all move out and not get fined up the ass.
This will be my last year to live on campus as next year Bryan and I are going to be living on our own with a co worker of mine and a friend of his. This is probably not the best idea ever but we all get alone and none of us can afford to live on our own yet so meh we will see how it goes. The original plan was for me to live with my now ex so yeah that is not going to happen EVER!
So plans change and you move on with your life.
At any rate, here is the low down on how my finals went:
Tuesday - CIS 375
This class was taught by my least favoriate professor, Dr. Johnson. He is a pompous, self centered, egotistical moron who I wonder why on earth he is a college professor when he doesnt’t even know the subject matter. The was the most stressful of all my finals as it is a coding final with a time limit. I had to code an ASP.Net application that could add, update, and delete from an Access database, bleh Access. I would have done extremly bad on this test if not for this website. Thank you very much to my friend JOy and her awesome friend Erin, who hails from Canada. Erin’s code is a combination of the last 2 assignments that Dr. Johnson gave out and I was ble to use this source code as well as my own notes and whatnot. I’m not sure how long ths link will work but here is what I turned in for my final. It looks alot like his site I freely admit but I was in a timeed final so I did not have time to worry about the cosmetics of it.
I found out today that I got 100% on the final which means that I have an A in the class so I guess thats good. I’m more psyched that I will NEVER have to take this man for a class again!
Wednesday - FGB 350
This is the introduction to finance course that I am required to take as my degree program is stuck in COBA so I was not really interested nor enthused about this course. It was taught by possibly the oldest professor I have had to date but at least he was still alive, so take Dr. Bowdige if you have a chance.
I’m not sure how I did on this final to be honest, probably not that great but its over and I no longer care.
I think I will get a B or C in this class but you never know.
Thursday - MGT 380, CIS 431
The first final was for the other intro class that I was required to take this year, Introduction to Marketing. Another class that I was not interested in but this one actually urned out to be really interesting and the professor, Dr. Cook, was knowledgeable and insightful, go figure! We had the option of opting out of this final which I decided to opt out of because I have a mid B in their and the final would not move it any. A B i not a bad grade for me so I can live with that, Next up was my Advanced Systems Analysis and Design course with Dr. Barrier. Shes a super nice lady but I don’t really think she is that great of a teacher and this course was primarily a soapbox for her rants and musings. Which is not always a bad thing but ummm how will this help me with my Senior Project course next spring? Oh it won’t . . shit.
The test was1/2 take home over essay questions and 1/2 over word bank marching which I think I did pretty good on it I think but I will probably have a C in here but I’m not sure.

Straight from the WordPress Development Team we have WordPress version 1.5.1 which came out today and I upgraded mainly to keep up with the current version of the software and to make sure that I have the best possible protection against hackers and what have you. the upgrade took about no time at all and everything went through perfectly. I also went back to the WordPress default theme ad the grey theme that I found was not doing it for me after a dew days. This one just seems very clean, it looks better, and its “slicker” in my opinion and it gets more favorable comments from random people that see me updating it on Proxima or chilling in one of the computer labs on campus. I start my finals in the morning so I will update you on how that goes. wish me luck!

If you are curious you can check out the author’s site click on the URL and let them know your thoughts. I will update in a little while how things are going with school and whatnot. Happy Cinco De Mayo if your into that wort of thing.
