51 Steps to Blogging

I found this link awhile back and I’m just now making a post about it. Although this is only a humorous article about blogging some of my favoriate entries were:

Find a free blogging service, such as www.blogger.com

Register a catchy yet philosophically deep name for your new blog: “lifesucks”; “All Things Me”; “Lifehacker”; “Playing With Matches”; “The Internet Slacker”, “I Stalk David Hasselhoff”.

Consider one of the many pre-made website templates offered by the blogging service, or one created by you.

Turn your nose up in disgust at the thought of using a pre-made template for your blog.

Spend the next seventeen hours creating a functioning website from scratch. If using Microsoft FrontPageTM, relocate all children and elders to a safe area out of your “profanity zone”.

Complete your self-made blog template by clicking on the “Publish Website” command in Microsoft FrontPageTM.

Watch in shock as the aforementioned seventeen hours of hard work gets permanently deleted off your hard drive by Microsoft FrontPageTM.

Swear so loudly all dogs within a five block radius begin running in circles and howling.

Declare “Screw It” and choose from a pre-made template. Always choose one with lots of kittens and flashing animated gifs.

Make sure the template is ready for your first blog entry. You can do this by going to your new blog’s URL address and seeing if the page loads properly. It will have no posts yet, of course, as you have not actually written your first blog entry. (If you do see a post written by yourself at this specific moment in time, read it! You’ve traveled back in time to warn yourself about the “Publish Website” command in Microsoft FrontPageTM).

. . .

Reload your blog incessantly every two minutes to see if anyone has made a comment.

Become enraged when the very first comment made on your very first blog entry is “yuo are teh sUxx0r!” from Anonymous

Go check out the link to read the rest of the article and let me know what you thought via a comment if you desire. :)

New Shiny

I just purchased Star Wars Battlefront II on Monday and it is a real improvement over the last one. Some of the improvements in this version include:

• Revamped single-player experience includes smarter AI enemies and allies, plus a greater emphasis on story told through open-ended mission-based objectives.

• New space battles allow you to dogfight in X-wings, TIE fighters, Jedi starfighters and several other starcraft, or fight it out on foot aboard an enemy capital ship.

• Special opportunities throughout the game for players to wield a lightsaber and use their favorite Force powers as a Jedi.

• More than 16 new battlefronts on land and in space, including many from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith such as Utapau, Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant.

• All-new classic trilogy locations including the Death Star interior, classic space battles and the fight aboard the Tantive IV, Princess Leia’s blockade runner seen at the beginning of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

• Online multiplayer action for up to 24 players on PS2, up to 32 on Xbox or up to 64 on PC Windows (plus AI units).

• Created by critically acclaimed developer Pandemic Studios (Star Wars Battlefront, Mercenaries).

If you are into first person shooters I would recommend it!

A Weekend with Andy and Crystal’s Halloween party

My trip to and from boonville went well. I rode up with another friend of Crystal’s, Jason, and we had a blast. the party itself was one hell of a good time on Saturday. Even though I was still sick I still managed to have fun (amazing what enough medication will do huh? :P). It was really great to see Andy and Crystal again and so far it seems that their marriage is working well. They have had some rough spots but they managed to work through them and I still think that their marriage will be a lasting one. I took some photos with my camera phone so I will upload those to Flickr when I get time so stay tuned for that.

UPDATE: I uploaded the pictures of the party fo Flickr and I will tag and comment them as soon as I can. I also uploaded some pictures of the Halloween decorations at my parents place if you are interested. I will also tag and add comments for them as soon as I get time.
