Swarm is a graphical map of hundreds of websites, all connection to each other.
While you’re browse the web, Swarm will update itself every second with the sites that other people visiting in. When a site become more popular (Google.com, for example), It will move towards the center of the swarm.
Go check this out! This is a really interesting way to show related sites in one giant web of interconnected sites that link to one another. My guess is that it is some sort of link crawler not unlike Google.
Firefox, Microsoft, and Opera have all come out with new browser version in the past couple of months. Which upgrade is the most significant? And which browser has the features and usability you’re looking for?
This is a good read for anyone considering one of the “Big 3″ of the browser wars, go give it a go and let me know what you think.
I thought I would be nice and just embed the BSG 3.0 premire right here for you cause I’m nice like that! Just click the image below and off you go, enjoy!
The minute long Battlestar Galactica Season 3 Preview debuted last night on the SciFi channel. Watch it now on YouTube. October is so far away.
I don’t know if I can wait until October myself, I’m already enjoying Eureka, Stargate: SG-1, and Stargate: Atlantis premiers but I would love to watch Battlestar at the same time . . . I guess you can’t have everything huh?
Forget the interviews and Wright-controlled E3 demos. This is the real deal; a hands on preview of his next masterwork as played by a gamer. Which means the question can finally be answered: is the game really any fun?
I first heard of this dame on This Week In Tech, which is a podcast that I listen to regularly, i looks like a really fun and impressive game, I really want to get a hold of this as soon as possible!
President Bush cast the first veto of his 5 1/2-year presidency Wednesday, rejecting legislation to ease limits on federal funding for research on stem cells obtained from embryos. Disappointed lawmakers said they intended to keep pushing to lift the restrictions.
I know this is old news but I wanted to state that I personally am in favor of scientific research such as this, does anyone else have an opinion on this topic? I would love to hear from some readers no matter what you views are.
Amazingly cool Java app lets you enter a name and shows you how popular it was from 1880 to the present. Edith has been on the decline since 1880, Sunshine peaked in the 1970s, and the undisputed king of girls names Mary is just on the way out circa 2006. Click “Launch NameVoyager” towards the bottom.
This is a pretty neat little Java application I think. Apperently, the name Brett was at its most popular in the 1980s, when was your name popular? Click below to find out and share your results.
MacRumors posts a recap of the results and the ensuing conference call. The basics: “Apple posted revenue of $4.37 billion and a net quarterly profit of $472 million or $.54 per diluted share. In general, they beat street estimates.”
“Here in Washington, there is nothing more amusing than watching business interests work themselves up into a righteous frenzy over a threat to their monopoly profits from a new technology or some upstart with a different business model.”
This is a pretty good article IMO that discusses why the RIAA is seeking to sue the pants off of a much smaller entity that has a new type of service. This new service allows XM subscribers to record portions of their music onto compatible XM radios. I think this is a good example of fair use since you already pay a monthly fee to access XM in the first place. I use XM myself and I higly recommend it, go give the article a read!
I found a really nice looking shelter for your iPod to take into the shower with you over on GIZMODO. The GIZMODO describe this product as
“Now you don’t need a separate MP3 player for those shower karaoke sessions; just slip that iPod (or any music player) into the Aquadock and it’ll be safe from the storm, sealed inside an airtight chamber, ready to crank out the tunes while you rehearse for your next appearance on American Idol.
If you can find something worth listening to, there’s also an AM/FM radio along for the ride, and a digital clock so you’ll know how late you’ll be for work because of all that bellowing in the shower. It’s available in white and titanium color, runs on four AA batteries, and looks like a pretty good deal at $30.”
I think this is a pretty accurate assessment of this product from reading the product page from the manufacturer but I cannot really speculate as I do not have the actual product to test in my shower. I have been looking for a way to take my iPod into the shower as no matter how high I crank the speakers on my computer to hear it over the sound of the water. Assuming that I find a steady job and pay down some of my long term debt I am planning on purchasing an Aquadock of my own, unless someone wants to buy me one, and I will let you all know how it preforms in real life.
