I am up here in KC with my family like usual and at long lat my Aunt and Uncle have finally gotten off of dialuip and have moved to a DSL line. they also have a WiFi enabled router so I don’t have to sneak around with a hotspot detector.
I hope that you are well and that you have a very Merry Christmas! ![]()

When Larry King retires, his show will go with him, says Jim Walton, president of CNN Worldwide. “It’s probably very unlikely that when Larry does retire that we would replace him,” he says. The spot held by King, 73, is one of the most sought-after jobs in all of TV news.
Wow, first John Paul II dies and now Larry King is talking about retiring. Another aspect of the world that I have grown up is is fading.

The popular news-aggregator site has launched a redesign to counter criticisms of its turn away from hard news. Will the changes help?
I like the new design and I think that it reflects that Digg is something more than just a tech news site anymore. What do you think?

Google has quietly axed the web services API to its eponymous search engine. The stealth move was made without any announcement, but visitors to the page now receive a blunt message, backdated to 5 December, advising them that the SOAP API is no longer supported.
I’m guessing that they no longer support SOAP connections so that people will use their AJAX Search API. Kinds sucks IMO, if I find outmore about this I will pass the info on.

Barely making it into the double-digits, “Eragon” has gotten only 4 / 36 Positive Reviews. No wonder that kid was crying about it.
I just watched this piece of garbage tonight at a local movie uberplex and I am still extremely angry about it. I have read both of the current books (thank you Matthew for letting me borrow those CDs) and they were fantastic! This movie is an insult to the genius of the author and the plot and dialog did nothing but insult the intelligence of the audience.
It was the typically overused hero rescues woman trapped in a dungeon storyline that has been used far too often by modern filmmakers (but the CGI dragon was neat . . .), the audience was spoon fed everything through a series of (badly fleshed out) plot devices and a good fourth of the first book was missing and was rearranged at random to fit some need of the director.
Visually the movie was decent until the end battle scene where the quality of the film degraded noticeably . . . I guess they ran out of time and/or money.
Oh, and don’t play the official game of the movie, it sucked as well FYI.

“Unconfirmed sources report that a young Swedish hacker named Nutzipper has defeated the Digital Rights Management on Microsoft’s new mp3 player the Zune. Our source also indicates that the hacker has also compromised the Zune’s Wi-Fi music sharing system. The Wi-Fi hack apparently allows users to secretly transfer music from any nearby Zune.”
Well, that didn’t take long did it? Seriously, why is there a brown color option for the damn thing?
