iPhone is Getting Spore. Yes, Spore.

“The Steve just demoed a multitouch game on the iPhone live on stage. We’ll bring more details as we get them but OMG games on the iPhone!”

This is pretty sweet! It looks like Spore will be available at launch for the PC. Mac, the DS, mobile phones, and now the iPhone. I wonder how long before we hear about versions for the Wii, Xbox 360, and the PS3.

iPhone SDK comparison chart!

“So with hardware accelerated 3D graphics, an integrated database API, tightly integrated performance monitoring tools, and a highly specialized version of the Cocoa framework tweaked just for the iPhone and rechristened as Cocoa Touch, the iPhone’s just-announced SDK sounds like a winner.”

I’m pretty excited about the SDK release today! For developers its a pretty awesome deal as Apple will not change a hosting fee, a credit card processing fee, or a marketing fee for the $99 you pay for becoming an iPhone developer. Also, developers get 70% of the revenue off of each sale so this is great for smaller developers! Also, the SDK is totally free to download at developer.apple.com if you wish to check it out!

Hands-on with Spore on DS!

“Will Wright’s amazing Spore is coming to a handful of platforms on September 7. Check out Joystiq’s detailed coverage of Spore Creatures on DS, with brand new screenshots and details on the portable version.”

From what I’ve read this is version focuses on the creation and care of creatures. The closest example that I can think of os Pokeamon but does a whole lot better. I don’t think I will be purchasing this version but I thought people might want to know about it if they don’t already.

Hands-on impressions with Spore!

“But most of all, I came away thinking that Maxis could pull off Spore’s overwhelming scope. This game could actually live up to Will Wright’s intent, shipping on September 7. Through Spore, he could change gaming again.”

Just another really excellent review on this title. I know it is confirmed on PCs, Macs, the DS, and mobile phones and supposedly the next platform will be the Wii. Depending on how different the different platforms are this is one game that I will probably purchase multiple copies of.

New ‘Net Neutrality Bill Surfaces In House (Updated)

“Reps. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Chip Pickering (R-MS) have introduced a bill that would force the FCC to take a long, hard look at network neutrality. The Commission would also have to (gasp) hear from the public… at least eight times.”

I doubt this will do any better than the last bill but maybe, just maybe, some people have woken up?

Google iPhone usage shocks search giant

“Google on Wednesday said it has seen 50 times more search requests coming from Apple iPhones than any other mobile handset — a revelation so astonishing that the company originally suspected it had made an error culling its own data.”

I’m not surprised by this I know I use my iPhone al the freaking time. Some days I use it more than my computer, it so easy to use FFS!
