Social Goodness

I really love the whole social/Web 2.0 movment that has been spreading across the Net. I tend to prefer thses types of sites over more traditional ones because your feel more involved when you can submit feedback that is actually listened to. Below are a list of all of the sites that I presently use, please feel free to contact me on them and add me as a contact. :)

From what I can remember Flickr was the first “Web 2.0″ site that I ever discovered. I know use it to store all of my digital photos and it is a great way to share your photos with friends and families, as well as discover new friends and look for new photos. Go check it out!

Digg

DiggI joined Digg on November 9, 2005. It has replaced other sites such as Slashdot as my daily read for tech news. I read it several different times a day and have yet to submit a story but I usually amd the last to find out about anything.

Newsvine

NewsvineNewsvine is another news service which I love. It is another daily read for me and I have found that Newsvine is a great news service since it aggregates content from teh Associated Press while also allowing users to submit (seed) and write anything that’s on their mind. The Newsvine community is great and you can always always find intelligent conversation on almost any article.

Del.icio.us

del.icio.usDel.icio.us was one of the first social/web 2.0 site that I became aware of. I have not used it until recently and it is a pretty handy way to store all of your bookmarks in one place. If you can get a lot of your friends to join as well it is a great way to exchange links back and forth. Below are the 5 most recent things that I have bookmarked.

Facebook

Brett Elliff's Facebook profileIf you are in college or high school Facebook is probably the easiest way to keep in touch with all of your freinds and classmates. You can think of it as something like MySpace but without all of the spambots and whatnot.

LinkedIn

View Brett Elliff's profile on LinkedInI discovered this site by reading Paul Stamatiou’s site, and it has been described as Facebook for adults. The site allows you to keep track of my resume and previous jobs, LinkedIn allows me to look for job openings among a network of contacts as well as their extended network. Think of it as “Networking 2.0.”

Technorati

Add to Technorati Favorites!Technorati is currently considered to be the most powerful blog and tag search engine. Myself and many other bloggers consider it easily the best way to find out who is linking and talking about you and your blog. It’s also a great way to stay up-to-date with the latest news stories and blog trends. I wish my site was ranked higher but it is not, that hopefully will change some time in the near future.

Last.FM

Last.FMI discovered this site while reading a post over at Michael Heilemann’s site and it is a pretty interesting site, it allows you to inform people what music you are listening to in your favorate MP3 player and then see what your friends are listening ig to. You can also get recommendations for mew music, similar to what Amazon offers when you login.

Twitter

This is the main cause of my lack of updates of late. Twitter has become a daily mini blog for me and I love to keep all my friends and family up to date on what I’m up to and its great that you can keep up to date on current events as well. Go give it a try, its free!

Xbox LIVE

Although I do not yet own an I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Elite and I love it! I enjoy gaming and I enjoy playing with my friends and coworkers. So in order to do that I use me Xbox LIVE account so here are the stats that I have accumulated to date. They aren’t much but I’m having a blast! If your in for a casual game give me a shout!

Also, my Xbox has a blog that you might enjoy reading.
